Marys Peak Summit Trail

Highlights:

Short 1.5 mile hike from summit parking lot to top of Marys Peak great views
Near:Philomath, OR
Scenery:
Distance:1.5 miles round trip
Elevation Gain:340 ft
Hike Time:1 hours
Difficulty:Moderate
Trail Condition:Well maintained trail
HikeType:Out and Back

Summary: From the parking lot follow the main trail/road (to the east of the parking lot) up to the summit of Marys Peak. This is a well maintained gravel trail and there are several single-trak trails (like the Summit Loop Trail) that branch off. There is a significant elevation gain, but it is not long. Only the very old or very young might have difficulty. A wheel chair could be pushed up it, but it would be difficult because of the angle near the top. One of the best times to visit is the month of May when all the flowers are out.
Trailhead: From I-5 take the Corvallis, Oregon exit and follow HWY 20/34 to and through Corvallis following signs to Philomath/Coast. After you pass through Philomath, the HWY will split with HWY 20 heading to Newport (right) and left HWY 34 to Waldport. Follow HWY 34 as if going to Waldport. Follow for approx 9 miles and look for the Marys Peak road on your right. Drive on this paved road (open April to October) to the summit parking lot (cost if $5 if you don't have a yearly parking pass). This is the start of your hike. (Lat:44.5104 Lon:-123.5489)
